About St. Anthony
St. Anthony was built in 1975. The church is built of brick under a pitched copper roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and a marble altar.
History
St Anthony's Parish was formed from St John the Baptist, Clontarf, in 1966. The church replaced an earlier building to the south, formerly the town hall and used as a chapel of ease from 1927. Archbishop Dermot Ryan laid the foundation stone in 1975; the recorded construction cost was £172,000.
