About St. Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul was built in 1925. It has a seven-bay nave. Notable features include a bell tower, an internal gallery, carved Stations of the Cross and a marble altar. It was designed by Ralph Byrne.
The building
Designed by Ralph Byrne for the Christian Brothers, this neo-Classical church was constructed in 1925 on the former Marino demesne. The south-facing façade features a pedimented gable with a belfry, Diocletian windows and a deep round-headed entrance recess. Inside, Corinthian and Ionic orders frame the nave and chancel arch, while a domed baldachin bears the inscription Tu Rex Gloriae Christe above the high altar, flanked by side altars to the Virgin Mary and St Vincent de Paul.
