About Church of the Assumption, Knockavilla
Church of the Assumption, Knockavilla was built in 1806. It has a T-shaped plan with a three-bay nave under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and window tracery.
History
Entrance porches were added in 1917 to the gable-front and south transept, and a flat-roofed sacristy followed around 1970. The 1917 entrance carries a dated keystone and uses alternating cut and rock-faced limestone voussoirs around its doorway.
