About Church of St. Barron, Kilbarron
Church of St. Barron, Kilbarron was built in 1814. It has a T-shaped plan and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote.
The building
This freestanding gable-fronted T-plan Catholic church features rendered walls and a pitched slate roof with ceramic cresting. The front gable supports a cut-stone bellcote adorned with a carved angel and cross finial, while metal finials cap the other gables. Pointed-arch openings contain small-pane double timber sliding sash windows, and a later porch with an artificial slate roof provides access.
