About St Mary’s Church, Ennybegs
St Mary’s Church, Ennybegs was built around 1828. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave and rendered walls. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, an open timber roof and buttressed walls.
History
Rev. John O'Reilly, Parish Priest of Killoe, originally built the church. The chancel was added by about 1900, while the Edgeworth map of 1814 marks a cross at the location, which may indicate an earlier church building on the site.
