About St. Luke's Church, Meelick
St. Luke's Church, Meelick was built in 1835. It has a single-cell plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows.
History
The site was provided by John Bolingbroke Esquire of Oldcastle, and the church was dedicated in 1881. It was improved in 1928, with works attributed to Ralph Henry Byrne of Dublin, before being renovated in 1983 and restored in 2002. The building stands in landscaped grounds on a slightly elevated corner site in Co. Mayo.
