About Immaculaate Conception and Saint Joseph, Bohola
Immaculaate Conception and Saint Joseph, Bohola was built between 1858 and 1859. It has a six-bay nave, built of squared sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, crenellated parapets and buttressed walls.
The building
The building was constructed between 1858 and 1859 and is attributed to Matthew Ellison Hadfield and George Goldie. It comprises a six-bay nave with single-storey side aisles and a projecting west porch, faced in rock faced sandstone with limestone dressings. The sanctuary was reordered in 2003 and the interior was restored in 2006 with stencil work designed by Andrew Wilson, while an exposed braced collared timber roof and a bellcote complete the structure.
