About St Killian’s Church
St Killian’s Church is a Catholic church at Ballymanagh, Co. Galway, in the Craughwell/Ballymanagh parish of the Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. The Saturday vigil Mass is at 7:30pm. Dr O’Fay obtained a site from Sir Thomas Redington of Kilcornan and built this church in 1855. It was opened in 1870. Dr O’Fay had studied in Rome and served as his own architect. In 1943–44, Fr M. Mitchell carried out major repairs. He installed a marble altar and rails, replastered the walls, and added stained glass.
