About Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Kilconieran
Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Kilconieran dates from 1959. It has a six-bay nave and pebbledashed walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
The building
The main doorway has a double-leaf timber panelled door with an overlight, reached by concrete steps within a rendered portico of cylindrical piers, capitals, a frieze and moulded cornice. The front entrance to the site is flanked by steel pedestrian gates and rendered piers, with a graveyard to the rear.
