About Church of the Holy Family
Church of the Holy Family dates from 1842. It has a four-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, crenellated parapets and pinnacles.
The building
This freestanding gable-fronted Roman Catholic church faces north with the altar at the south end. It comprises a four-bay nave and a two-bay sacristy, featuring ashlar limestone buttresses and pointed pinnacles. The structure includes a pitched slate roof with crenellated carved limestone copings and a carved cross finial. A tooled limestone triangular plaque adorns the gable-front, while tooled limestone priests' graves are located to the north-west.
