About Church of the Nativity
Church of the Nativity is a Catholic church at Kilchreest, Co. Galway, in the Ardrahan/Kilchreest/Peterswell parish of the Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Kilfenora. The Saturday vigil Mass is at 7:30pm. Built in 1841 on the site of an older chapel that had also served as a school, the church was erected under Fr Michael Burke. He was later struck by lightning outside the church in 1855 and never fully recovered; a marble plaque commemorates him. Fr P.
