About St. Joseph
St. Joseph was built between 1953 and 1956. It has a cruciform plan with a four-bay nave and pebbledashed walls. Notable features include a four-stage bell tower, stained-glass windows and buttressed walls.
History
The foundation stone was laid in November 1954 for the Reverend J. Fitzgibbon. The church was officially consecrated by Archbishop John Charles McQuaid in July 1956. Detached presbyteries stand to the northwest and southwest of the main structure.
