About Our Lady of Lourdes
Our Lady of Lourdes was built in 1954 in the Romanesque Revival style. It has a cruciform plan, built of brick. Notable features include an internal gallery and mosaic work.
History
The 1954 church replaced an earlier corrugated-iron building known as the Tin Church and was designed by O’Connor and Aylward. The south transept contains the tomb of Matt Talbot, who died in 1925.
