About St Colman, Gort
St Colman, Gort was built in 1825. It has a cruciform plan, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and mosaic work. The sacristy was added in 1876.
History
A canted chancel and sacristy were added in 1876. The church was altered and extended in 1892 and was substantially altered again around 1935, when side aisles were added.
