About Church of St Colman
Church of St Colman was built around 1850. The church has pebbledashed walls under a pitched tiled roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, window tracery and buttressed walls.
The building
The freestanding Roman Catholic church features a nave with four-bay sides and a single-bay chancel. A three-stage belfry rises from the south-west gable, constructed of rock-faced rusticated limestone with a cast-iron bell. The interior contains a carved timber altar with a painted biblical scene and a timber-fronted confessional set within the wall.
