About St. Brigid's, Knockbride East
St. Brigid's, Knockbride East was built in 1832. The church has rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and an open timber roof. The church stands in its own graveyard.
History
The church was refurbished in 1853. A belfry tower and porch were attached to the south-west nave elevation in 1962, while the direct entrance in the rear nave elevation reflects an earlier practice of separate entrances for men and women.
