About St Patrick's Church, Maudabawn
St Patrick's Church, Maudabawn was built in 1915 in the Gothic Revival style. The church has rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote, an internal gallery and window tracery. It was designed by John Joseph McDonnell.
History
Contractor J. McGennis built the church at a recorded cost of £3,048. It replaced a large T-plan predecessor dated to 1825. John Joseph McDonnell, whose design is already associated with the present church, also carried out extensive alterations at the Catholic church in nearby Shercock.
