About Knockbride
Knockbride was built in 1825 in the Gothic Revival style. The church has a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, an internal gallery, crenellated parapets and pinnacles. The south transept was added in 1858.
History
A double transept was added to the north side in 1870, accompanied by a lower eastern vestry. This extension is attributed to J Rawson Carroll, who also designed the pulpit and reader's desk. The church stands in an older graveyard containing the ruin of an earlier church and a vault to the north-west.
