About St. Anne's Church, Killann
St. Anne's Church, Killann was built in 1837 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a cruciform plan and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include lancet windows. The south transept was added in 1930.
The building
St Anne's is a Roman Catholic church with a freestanding belfry to the south, probably by the foundry of Matthew O'Byrne of James's Street in Dublin. The building was refurbished c.1990, adding a toilet extension to the west. Exterior details include raised barges with carved kneelers, stone cross finials, and a graduated triple lancet arrangement to the north transept.
