About Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Ballingarry
Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Ballingarry was built between 1870 and 1880 in the Gothic Revival style. It has an eight-bay nave, built of sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a four-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
The building
The plan includes transepts on the west and east elevations, a hexagonal turret to the north, a gable-fronted porch and four-stage square-plan battered tower to the west, and a gabled chancel with flanking chapels. A side aisle, sacristy and canted chapel lie to the east.
