About St. Mary's Church, Cloncagh
St. Mary's Church, Cloncagh dates from 1840. It has a single-cell plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote and window tracery. The church stands in its own graveyard.
The building
Inside, the church has a braced timber roof with riveted tenon joints and a polychrome ceramic-tiled floor. Two tooled stone grave markers lie to the west of the nave, while the chancel is entered through a pointed elliptical arch springing from engaged, capitalled piers.
