About Galway Presbyterian Church

Galway Presbyterian Church was built in 1839. The church is built of limestone. Notable features include stained-glass windows, pinnacles and buttressed walls.

The building

The structure is a corner-sited combined church and school built in 1839, sharing a single façade. The church occupies the south-west end with a three-bay gable front and a projecting gabled porch, while the two-bay three-storey school is located at the north-east end. The school may be a later addition, as suggested by the junction between the two structures. The building features dressed limestone walling, round-headed window openings with limestone surrounds, and a spired pinnacle with a metal weather vane on the church pediment.
