About Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nicholas
Galway Cathedral is one of the youngest stone cathedrals in Europe, completed in 1965. Its Renaissance style and distinctive green dome make it a Galway landmark. The cathedral stands on the site of the old city jail.
