About Galway St Nicholas
Galway St Nicholas was built around 1320. It has a cruciform plan under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an open timber roof and crenellated parapets. The church stands in its own graveyard.
Notable features
Interior fittings include a sixteenth-century baptismal font, a thirteenth-century tombstone and the elaborately carved canopied Lynch tomb. The south transept retains a raised cruck roof with arch-braced king posts and struts.
