About Drumkeeran Presbyterian Church
Drumkeeran Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland in Killeshandra, County Cavan.
The building
The church was built in the 1800s as a daughter church of the Croghan congregation. It follows the plan of the standard Presbyterian meeting house, plain in design, with the pulpit set centrally at the front. The congregation's own account describes that arrangement as marking the hearing of Scripture as the focus of worship.
Notable features
The pulpit falls carry the Burning Bush emblem with the Latin motto 'Ardens Sed Virens', which the congregation translates as 'burning but living', after the account of Moses and the burning bush in Exodus.
