About St Patrick’s Garrison Church
St Patrick’s Garrison Church was built around 1880. It has a six-bay nave, built of limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a marble altar and window tracery.
History
Constructed c.1880, this Roman Catholic chapel was built for soldiers stationed at the adjacent Renmore Barracks to attend religious ceremonies. The structure features a six-bay nave, a lower single-bay chancel to the west, and a flat-roofed sacristy. It is set within its own grounds, enclosed by rubble stone boundary walls and wrought-iron gates.
