About St. Mary's Church, Middle Chapel
St. Mary's Church, Middle Chapel was built in 1824 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a cruciform plan with a two-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and lancet windows. The church stands in its own graveyard.
History
St Mary's Church in Corcreeghagh, Co. Cavan, is a chapel of ease in the Drumgoon parish. It was built in 1824 and remains the only one of three chapels in the parish, alongside Cootehill and Madabawn, to retain its early nineteenth century appearance. The chancel was added and arcades inserted around 1880, with further refurbishment occurring in 1988.
