About St. Nicholas' Church, Castlelyons
St. Nicholas' Church, Castlelyons was built in 1845 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a T-shaped plan with a three-bay nave, built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and a bellcote.
Notable features
Timber galleries occupy the entrance end and the transepts, with quatrefoil motifs used in their panelling. The interior also has clustered columns on limestone plinths, engaged marble columns at the chancel arch and arcaded marble altar rails.
