About St. Michael & St. John – Cloughjordan
St. Michael & St. John – Cloughjordan was built in 1898. The church is built of squared limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, a marble altar and buttressed walls. It was designed by George Ashlin.
Notable features
The side aisles are divided from the nave by pointed arches carried on round-plan marble columns. A timber arched roof is supported by hanging posts above carved stone corbels, and the site boundary includes carved limestone gate piers, cast-iron railings and double gates.
