About St. Patrick’s, The Pike
St. Patrick’s, The Pike was built in 1833. It has a T-shaped plan and rendered walls under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
The building
The church features a sacristy to the southeast and glazed porches added to the transepts. The interior contains a collared timber roof with a tongue-and-groove ceiling, while the entrance end holds a gallery with a carved timber rail. A brass re-dedication plaque is located in the porch, and the site is enclosed by cut-stone gate piers and cast-iron gates.
