About St Mary’s Church, Urbleshanny
St Mary’s Church, Urbleshanny was built around 1785. It has a four-bay nave, built of squared sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
The building
In addition to the south tower, the church has a two-stage tower to the north, a single-cell baptistery on the west elevation, a canted sacristy in the south-east internal angle and a three-bay single-storey office in the north-east internal angle.
