About St. Mary's Church, Ballyhaise
St. Mary's Church, Ballyhaise was built in 1823 in the Gothic Revival style. The church is built of squared sandstone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
History
The building formerly served as the Cathedral of the Catholic Diocese of Kilmore in Cavan town. It was moved to Ballyhaise in 1942 when the new cathedral by Ralph Byrne of W. H. Byrne and Son was completed.
