About St. Aidan's
St. Aidan's was built between 1861 and 1863 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a five-bay nave, built of sandstone. Notable features include a bell tower, stained glass including a rose window, an internal gallery and lancet windows.
Notable people
The church is an early work by architect William Hague and was built by his father, contractor William Hague Senior. Both men were natives of the townland of Plush near Butlersbridge, linking the design and construction team directly to the locality.
