About St. Mary's, Castlerahan
St. Mary's, Castlerahan was built in 1834. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave, built of rubble stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows and a bellcote.
History
The interior was extensively renovated in 1975. The roof has punched terracotta ridge tiles and limestone cross finials, with a concrete chimneystack to the rear of the east transept. Cast-iron rainwater goods are also retained at roof level.
