About St Brigid's Church, Mountnugent
St Brigid's Church, Mountnugent was built around 1820. It has a T-shaped plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and window tracery.
The building
St Brigid's Church in Mountnugent, Co. Cavan, features a T-plan nave with single-bay transepts. A Gothic Revival chancel and sacristy were added c.1890, while a wider narthex was constructed c.1950. The interior contains historic pews, a timber gallery, and a ceiling with fluted beams that probably dates from the late nineteenth century.
