About St. Joseph's, Liscarroll
St. Joseph's, Liscarroll dates from 1869. It has a cruciform plan, built of rubble limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and carved Stations of the Cross.
The building
St Joseph's is a Gothic Revival Roman Catholic church dated 1869, located on the edge of the village where it is the first building seen when entering Liscarroll from the west. The north-east-facing gable-fronted cruciform structure features a single-storey sacristy to the south-west corner, ashlar limestone quoins, and cross finials to the gables. Interior details include a marble altar rail, metal Stations of the Cross, and a timber battened organ gallery supported on columns with decorative capitals.
