About St. Joseph's Church, Killacluig
St. Joseph's Church, Killacluig was built around 1830 in the Gothic Revival style. It has a cruciform plan with a three-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote.
The building
St Joseph's Church is a freestanding Gothic Revival structure built c. 1830, facing west with a cruciform plan. It features a three-bay nave, two-bay single-storey extensions to the east gable, and roughcast rendered walls with quoins. The pitched slate roof includes render cross finials and a cut limestone openwork bellcote. Pointed arch openings contain replacement timber windows and doors, flanked by holy water stoups. The site is enclosed by rendered boundary walls with cast-iron gates.
