The building
St Patrick’s Church in Anglesboro, Co. Cork, is a freestanding cruciform-plan Roman Catholic church built in 1804. The structure features a four-bay nave and a single-bay sacristy with a lean-to, all under pitched slate roofs with rendered copings. The west elevation includes an open-work pedimented stone bellcote topped with a cast-iron cross finial. The entrance is framed by pilasters with recessed panels and scrolled consoles supporting a hoodmoulding over double-leaf timber battened doors. The façade displays round-headed and pointed arch openings with stained glass, while the sacristy has square-headed openings with replacement uPVC windows. The church is enclosed by roughcast rendered boundary walls and double-leaf metal gates.
