About Church of the Holy Family, Curraghagalla
Church of the Holy Family, Curraghagalla was built around 1940. It has a five-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched tiled roof. Notable features include a bell tower and stained-glass windows.
The building
The freestanding gable-fronted Roman Catholic church includes a round-roofed porch to the front, a lower sacristy to the west, and a bell tower to the north-west. A cast-iron cross finial sits over the gable-front, while the entrance features a round-headed doorway with a chamfered limestone surround and timber battened double-leaf doors. The structure uses concrete render and brick, with cut limestone reserved for the entrance, and stands near the local national school.
