About St. John the Baptist, Athlacca
St. John the Baptist, Athlacca was built in 1840. It has a single-cell plan with a four-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched artificial slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an internal gallery.
The building
The porch and east elevation have square-headed openings with timber-battened doors. An internal pointed arch has a chamfered limestone surround above half-glazed timber-panelled double doors, and the interior is finished with a timber-battened ceiling.
