About St Jame’s Church, Clonbroney
St Jame’s Church, Clonbroney was built around 1820. It has a T-shaped plan and pebbledashed walls. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows, mosaic work and a marble altar.
The building
The church stands in its own grounds, with a graveyard mainly to the north containing mostly upright nineteenth- and twentieth-century markers. Rendered boundary walls face the road, and square-plan rendered gate piers with wrought-iron gates mark the entrances on the elevated site.
