St Colum's Church, Gleann

The building

St Colum's Church is a detached eight-bay single-storey Roman Catholic structure built c. 1850. It features a gabled porch to the south, a gabled chancel to the east, and a gabled vestry to the north-east. The church has a pitched slate roof with crested clay ridge tiles and an unpainted roughcast moulded-capped chimneystack. Concrete verges are surmounted by crosses at the east end, while a bellcote stands at the west end. The walls are painted smooth-rendered with a projecting plinth and coursed rock-faced ashlar buttresses. Lancet window openings contain leaded stained and coloured glass lights. A pointed-arched door opening with chamfered ashlar reveals leads to hardwood vertically-sheeted double doors. The site includes grass, a gravelled drive, paths, and painted smooth-rendered boundary walls to the south and east.
