About Church of the Sacred Heart, Riverstown
Church of the Sacred Heart, Riverstown was built in 1940. It has a three-bay nave, built of squared stone. Notable features include stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and mosaic work.
The building
The church has a three-bay nave, single-bay transepts and a single-bay chancel, with flat-roofed ancillary accommodation in the angles. A detached square-plan six-stage bell tower stands to the north-east and terminates in an octagonal lantern and cupola.
