About Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, Bellarush
Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, Bellarush was built around 1860. It has a single-cell plan with a four-bay nave, built of rubble limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, a bellcote and an open timber roof.
The building
Constructed c. 1860, this single-cell church features roughly coursed rubble limestone walling with tooled quoins and a pitched slate roof. A lean-to sacristy adjoins the east end, while a gabled porch was added to the west end c. 1990. The interior contains a timber truss roof with trefoil piercings and wrought-iron tension ties resting on profiled stone corbels.
