About Sacred Heart, Mogeely
Sacred Heart, Mogeely dates from 1909. It has a seven-bay nave, built of limestone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a three-stage bell tower, stained-glass windows, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
Notable features
The interior has arcaded aisles and a full-height chancel arch. Polished granite columns carry the nave arcade, with further granite colonnades at the chancel and chapel arches. Sculpted head corbels occur on the arcade archivolts, and exposed scissors-truss timbers span the roof.
