About Ringaskiddy Oratory
Ringaskiddy Oratory was built in 1923. It has a simple single-cell form under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows and a bellcote.
The building
The gable-fronted single-storey church was built in 1923 and incorporates fabric of an earlier building. The north elevation includes a rendered bellcote, an inset render font with an inscribed date, and a pointed-arch door flanked by columns with a canopy and statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary above. Pointed-arch openings hold lead-lined stained-glass windows, side elevations have timber sliding sash windows, and a statue of Jesus Christ with a cross stands on a rendered pedestal to the north east inscribed 'JESU REX MISERERE'.
