About Our Lady of Lourdes
Our Lady of Lourdes dates from 1839. It has a T-shaped plan with a two-bay nave and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bellcote, an internal gallery and a marble altar.
The building
This freestanding gable-fronted church faces east and includes single-bay transepts, a canted apse, and a two-bay sacristy. The exterior features painted wetdashed rendered walls, round-headed windows, and a pointed arch main entrance with a chamfered limestone surround. A graveyard lies to the south, enclosed by steel gates and railings with a moulded concrete block plinth wall.
