About Newtowngore St Patrick

Newtowngore St Patrick was built around 1850. It has a four-bay nave, built of limestone under a pitched tiled roof. Notable features include a bellcote, buttressed walls and lancet windows.

The building

The Church of Ireland church includes a single-bay chancel, a gabled entrance porch to the south and a vestry to the north. The roof features carved stone crosses and ornamented corbelled eaves. The nave has paired lancets with cast-iron lattice windows, decorative quatrefoils and hood mouldings. A triple lancet adorns the east gable with decorative dripstops. The site is enclosed by a random coursed limestone wall and wrought-iron gates.
