About Lady Chapel, Gaggan
Lady Chapel, Gaggan dates from 1929. It has a seven-bay nave, built of squared stone under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include a bell tower, stained-glass windows and mosaic work.
The building
This freestanding Roman Catholic church features a seven-bay nave and a three-stage bell tower to the north. The structure is built of snecked dressed stone with pitched slate roofs, ashlar limestone lintels, and cast-iron cross finials. Interior elements include a polychrome tiled central aisle, a timber panelled ceiling with exposed rafters, and later mosaic and marble fittings in the chancel.
