About Killala Presbyterian Church
Killala Presbyterian Church dates from 1824. It has a simple single-cell form and rendered walls under a pitched slate roof. Notable features include stained-glass windows, window tracery and lancet windows.
History
The church was erected under the aegis of Reverend David Rogers (d. 1859). It was apparently unfinished in 1826 and completed in 1829. The building allegedly succeeded the later seventeenth-century Moywater Presbyterian Church. An adjacent graveyard contains markers for Robert Massey (1832-1902), James Hunter Massey (d. 1916) and Dr. Thomas Hunter Massey OBE MD (d. 1934).
